Dr. Thompson received his Doctor of Optometry degree with honours from the University Of Houston College Of Optometry in 1998. He also received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta in 1994. He served as both a reserve and active duty U.S. Army Optometrist from 1995-2001 in Texas & Germany and was deployed with peacekeepers to Kosovo in 2000 in this capacity. Since 2001, Dr. Thompson has been working with Dr. Jan Lebenhagen in Calgary. Dr. Thompson has extensive experience in primary optometry and in treating ocular disease, minor trauma, and pre / post laser refractive surgery cases. His areas of special interest include dry eye / ocular surface disease, and rigid gas permeable contact lenses.

JAN W. LEBENHAGEN, OD
Dr. Lebenhagen received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2000. The final year of his schooling placed him in practice settings including a Veterans Affairs hospital focusing on eye disease, and a full scope primary care clinic with pediatrics, sports vision, and low vision concentrations. Since 2001, Dr. Lebenhagen has been working with Dr. James Thompson in Calgary. Dr. Lebenhagen has extensive experience in primary optometry and in treating ocular disease, minor trauma, and pre / post laser refractive surgery cases. His areas of special interest include dry eye / ocular surface disease.

NATASHA BHATIA, OD

Dr. Bhatia received her Doctor of Optometry degree with honours from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science in 2015. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition in 2009 from the University of Alberta. As part of her clinical training, Dr. Bhatia has completed an extensive ocular disease externship in Edmonton, Alberta where she trained with general ophthalmologists, cataract, refractive, strabismus and glaucoma specialists. Since her graduation, she has been providing full scope optometric care at various family practices in Calgary, Alberta. Dr. Bhatia is delighted to join the Eyeclectic team at FYidoctors. She is passionate about providing exceptional eye care and is currently accepting patients of all ages. Her areas of special interest include dry eye, vision therapy and binocular vision.

KIERA GARNER, OD

Dr. Garner is a native Albertan who graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1981. She is the most senior member of our team and has a strong background in vision therapy, eye exercises, contact lenses, & pre/post refractive surgery. She also has a strong connection to our latin community and is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Garner takes pride in providing caring individual attention by going to any length to meet her patients' visual needs.

NIKKO BRAR, OD

Dr. Brar was born and raised in Calgary. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba in 2005. While completing her B.Sc. Dr. Brar developed an interest in Optometry. She graduated in May of 2009 with a Doctor of Optometry and a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. During her time in Optometry school Dr. Brar took part in various clinical rotations in both the USA and in China including Aran Eye Institute, The Eye Institute at Nova Southeastern University, and Tianjin Eye Hospital in China. These challenging internships and externships helped Dr. Brar to develop full-scope Optometry skills in the areas of primary care, low vision and geriatrics, contact lenses, pediatrics, binocular vision and vision therapy. She now lives back home in Calgary and has been an associate of Eyeclectic Eyewear since December 2010. Dr. Brar is an enthusiastic doctor who is committed to the profession of optometry and enjoys providing excellent patient care.
