John received his certification as a civil engineering technologist from the Society of Engineering Technologists of British Columbia. In 1976, he received his B.A. in Humanities from UBC. John worked as a Quality Control technologist for two pre-cast concrete firms until 1986, after which he became a Registered Optician (R.O.) and Registered Contact Lens Fitter (R.C.L.P.). Shortly after receiving his Opticianry diploma, John began teaching the second year of the Optical program offered through N.A.I.T. Subsequently in 1991, he became the programme head of the optical programs for the province of Alberta. In 1993, John saw the need for an artistic, high-end optical venue in Calgary and established "Eyeclectic Eyewear" in the newly developed Eau Claire Market, later migrating to Calgary Eaton Centre, and expanding to Willow Park Village.
Sandie hails from sunny Medicine Hat, Alberta. Over the years, she has excelled in a variety of jobs - office administration, floral design, aesthetician, and retail sales. After moving to Calgary, pursuing a career as an optician captured Sandie's interest. She graduated with honours as a Registered Optician (R.O.) in 1992 and again as a Registered Contact Lens Fitter (R.C.L.P.) in 1999 from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Working closely with optometrists for more than 20 years, Sandie enjoys the challenge of keeping five stores organized, and encouraging them to operate as a team where each employee plays their own important and valued part.
